Midori Hirose: Boners and Blobs at the Independent

Boners and Blobs by Midori Hirose abstracts the nature of light and dark in terms of the primal, human senses. Hirose plays it both hard and loose, combining geo and expressionist shapes, working through a process of structure and disorder. She creates sculptures which contrast the active with the passive, the tempered with the unrefined. Midori Hirose lives and works in Portland, Oregon.
Gallery hours are Thursday through Saturday, 12 - 6PM and by appointment. Exhibition closes October 29, 2011. The gallery is located in the Pearl at 530 NW 12th in Portland, Oregon.
